Diversity & Inclusivity
We provide equal opportunity regardless of gender, race, religion, or socioeconomic background and actively build an inclusive culture through engagement and development.
Gender Committees
While plantation work has traditionally been male dominated, we encourage women’s participation across all roles and maintain Gender Committees at every estate and mill to support our female workforce.
Contribution To Society
Contribution to Society
We invest in the communities where we operate—supporting education, infrastructure, culture, and social development—and prioritise job opportunities for local villagers via direct employment, internships, and contract awards.
  • In partnership with a local orphanage, we developed an oil palm estate on its land; profits support the orphanage and an Al-Yatama Berhad development fund.
  • In Sarawak, we develop Native Customary Rights (NCR) land to share long-term benefits with indigenous landowners. As at 31 January 2025, we manage 2,774 ha under the NCR project (2,449 ha planted), providing sustainable income to ~700 local landowners.
  • KLRB is an active donor and supporter of the MEOA MYTC program, a collaboration between the Malaysian Estate Owners' Association (MEOA) and the Montford Youth Training Centre (MYTC) to provide training for marginalised youth, equipping them with the skills needed for staff-level roles in the plantation sector.
  • We host trainees from universities and training centres, with suitable candidates offered employment upon completion.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

In FY2025, we contributed ~RM346,000 to government and non-government organisations for sports, cultural, welfare, and education initiatives, including support to schools (building funds, sports days, and PTA programmes) across Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.
