| Our Approach |
| The Group embeds sustainable practices across estates and mills, complying with environmental regulations—particularly effluent treatment—and advancing resource efficiency and circularity. |
| Field Practices |
| We implement environmentally friendly agronomy, including field application of empty fruit bunches (EFB), bio-fertilisers and compost to enhance soil organic matter and nutrient cycling, with significant progress at the Kota Tinggi mill’s composting programme. These steps help lower reliance on inorganic fertilisers and improve soil structure. |

| Effluent & Emissions |
| Palm oil mill effluent (POME) is treated to regulatory standards. We continue to improve anaerobic digestion and expand biogas utilisation for steam and electricity to avoid methane emissions. Relevant projects have been undertaken under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) framework. We will keep maximising waste and co-products to reduce our environmental footprint. |
| Business Scope |
| The Group’s principal activities include investment holding; cultivation of oil palm; processing of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) and marketing of palm oil products; processing of oil palm fibre; biogas and power generation—streamlined into two main segments: plantation operations and palm oil milling operations. |
| Governance & Materiality |
| Sustainability and risk oversight is provided by the Risk Management & Sustainability Committee (RMSC), chaired by the Board Chairman and comprising the Managing Director, Executive Directors, and Heads of Business Units. A cross-functional working group (senior management and key staff) identifies Material Sustainability Matters (MSMs), manages action plans, monitors progress, and escalates outcomes to the RMSC for deliberation and onward reporting to the Board. |
